Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: May 29, 2026 Last Updated: May 29, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of missingnews.org (the “Site”), operated by D2X Enterprises LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company (“Missing News,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

2. Description of Service

Missing News is a public missing-persons awareness publication and research platform. We aggregate publicly available case information from the U.S. Department of Justice’s National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs), publicly available news reporting (with external links to original sources), and original editorial content including embedded podcast episodes hosted on YouTube. The Site is provided as a free public-interest resource.

3. Editorial Integrity

Missing News publishes facts only, sourced from public records and credible reporting. We do not publish speculation, theories of guilt, accusatory commentary, or unverified rumor. If you believe a published fact is inaccurate, please contact us at info@missingnews.org with the case identifier and source citation, and we will review and correct the record where warranted.

4. Authoritative Source Disclaimer

NamUs and the relevant law enforcement agencies of jurisdiction are the authoritative sources for missing-persons case information. Information on the Site is provided for awareness and research purposes only and may be incomplete, outdated, or superseded by later official updates. Always consult NamUs (namus.nij.ojp.gov) and the investigating agency for the most current, authoritative information before taking any action based on a case.

5. Permitted Use

You may access and use the Site for personal, non-commercial awareness, research, journalistic, educational, and public-interest purposes. You may share links to Site pages and quote brief excerpts with attribution to Missing News and a link back to the original page.

6. Prohibited Use

You agree NOT to:

7. Currently-Minor Subjects

Cases involving currently-minor subjects are excluded from public display on the Site as a matter of policy and are enforced server-side. Do not attempt to surface, infer, aggregate, or republish information that would identify a currently-minor subject in connection with the Site.

The Site links to external news articles, NamUs case pages, YouTube-hosted media, and other third-party resources. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for third-party content, and following an external link takes you outside the Site and subjects you to the destination’s terms and privacy practices.

9. Public-Record Attribution

Case data and case thumbnails displayed on the Site are sourced from NamUs, a public-record system maintained by the U.S. Department of Justice. We display NamUs material in accordance with NamUs’s reuse policy. News headlines, excerpts, and citations link to the originating publishers, who retain all rights in their work.

10. Our Content License

Original editorial content authored by Missing News (excluding NamUs material, third-party news content, podcast audio/video hosted on YouTube, and other third-party assets) is © 2026 D2X Enterprises LLC, all rights reserved. You may quote brief excerpts for non-commercial commentary, criticism, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, or research with attribution and a link back. All other reproduction, redistribution, or derivative use requires prior written permission.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL D2X ENTERPRISES LLC, ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The exclusive venue for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site lies in the state or federal courts located in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect, and the unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable while preserving its intent.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date above and, where appropriate, by a notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
